The procedure and jargon used in online shops is based
on an analogy with shopping in a supermarket

| Browse the pages of the online store to find the items you want to buy | Walk round to find the goods you want |
| Select an item to buy by setting the quantity/number required and then clicking on "Add to cart" | Put your selections in your basket or shopping trolley (cart) |
| When you have finished selecting items to buy, click on "Go to checkout" | Take your basket to a checkout |
| You will now be asked to enter information onto a number of pages. The information is needed for payment and delivery of your order. As you complete each page, click "Next" | |
| The final page will transfer you to the secure WorldPay website | |
| Choose your type of credit/debit card and enter the details of your card and the cardholder | Hand over your cash or plastic card to the checkout operator |
| After payment, read the receipt page and print it out | Take your till receipt |

At any stage, you can click on the CANCEL button or BACK to correct something you have already entered
