The Diocese of Southwark

Retreat and Training Centre – ‘Wychcroft’

Interim Manager

Wychcroft is the Retreat and Training Centre for the Diocese of Southwark, providing hospitality in a prayerful and worshipping setting, in a peaceful, rural setting in the Surrey countryside.  The centre is known for the warmth of its welcome and its unobtrusive, but high standard of hospitality.

An interim manager is required, initially for the period of a year to manage the facility in the transition whilst we develop the vision and strategy for Wychcroft, following the retirement of the current warden. They will be responsible for the smooth running of the establishment ensuring that the highest standards of hospitality continue to be met, and helping to ensure that Wychcroft is used to its full capacity.

They must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a good eye for detail, and a desire to provide the best possible experience for guests.

There will be the need to have good, practical hospitality skills, particularly experience in catering, and knowledge of health and safety and facilities issues.

The remuneration package will include a salary in the region of £27,000, rent-free accommodation in a two-bedroomed cottage house, situated in the grounds of Wychcroft and includes membership of the Church of England Pension Scheme.
