Whitchester is an ecumenical Christian Retreat Centre with a ministry of welcome and hospitality. We provide guests with a safe space in which to connect with God. Situated in the stunning Scottish Borders, this comfortable Victorian country house is set in 3 acres of landscaped gardens and woodland offering a tranquil setting and plenty of good home-cooked (and home-grown) food. The Wardens are both trained listeners, with one also trained in spiritual direction. Listening, prayer ministry and spiritual direction are available on request – please contact us to book, either during a stay or as a day visitor.

The house is the perfect size for groups (minimum of 10 guests for exclusive use) to gather together for a few days, whether a church group, shared interest group, family gathering or exploring local pilgrimage routes. Please email us for further information.

We also welcome day groups, whether for an introductory quiet day, Alpha Awayday, or church leadership planning/time out.
