Retreat Centre Description
Swarthmoor Hall is a Grade 2* listed country house set in beautiful gardens close to the historic market town of Ulverston in south Cumbria. Known as the "cradle of Quakerism", it was from here in 1652 that Quakerism began and flourished. The Hall offers a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere and venue for overnight guests in the self-catering accommodation to organise your own retreats; and for day visitors coming to see the Hall, gardens and cafe. There is also easy access to the coast and fells of the southern Lake District and west Cumbria.

Accommodation on Offer
We have 5 self catering units on site, offering a mix of double, single and twin rooms which can be hired individually or all together. Several units are accessible to all and allow dogs. Each unit has its own kitchen and living space and there is also a large meeting room available. We've also got the gardens, wildflower meadow and the historic Hall plus cafe and small gift shop are open part of the year.
