Retreat Centre Description
Roman Catholic Benedictine monastery. All denominations welcome. Guests and visitors are welcome to all the services in the Abbey church (8 services a day), Gregorian chant. Pluscarden Abbey, whose buildings date from the 13th century, is the home of a community of contemplative Benedictine monks, set in peaceful countryside of fields, woods and hills. The nearest town is Elgin (for trains, buses). The nearest airports are Aberdeen (2 hours) and Inverness (30 miles)
November 2024 should see the opening of our new women's guest house, adjacent to the main Abbey. It comprises 8 single rooms with ensuite toilet/shower: 3 rooms have level access on the ground floor. Booking arrangements as above.
Accommodation on Offer
Men’s guest house: 14 single rooms with washbasin; 1 single room on ground floor with en suite. Showers and toilets on each floor.
Women’s guest house: 10 single rooms with washbasin; showers and toilets along the corridor. All rooms are on ground floor. NB Women’s guest house is self-catering, with essential foodstuffs provided (e.g. bread, sugar, milk, eggs, muesli) Some supermarkets deliver. Cooker, microwave, freezer etc
