Whalley Abbey - A Place of Encounter, Spiritual Refreshment and Growth.
Book on to one of our retreats, quiet days or arrange your own parish/group retreat.
With 17 beautiful en-suite bedrooms along with fully catered options you can also hire the Abbey for your meeting or conference or just keep it simple and come for a self-guided hermitage retreat in our cottage by the river.
All our guests are welcome to join in with our daily cycle of prayer and spend time in our beautiful gardens within the ruins of the 14th Century Cistercian Abbey to allow for that encounter with God that He is calling you to.

St Paulinus Pilgrimage - We are on a new St Paulinus Pilgrimage Route from Whalley to Goodmanham, nr York. The Abbey provides the first stop with overnight accomodation. food and prayers at the start of your journey.
A Year of comtemplation 2026 with day events with workshops, quiet days and residential retreats.
Held in God's Gaze - a series of quiet days focusing on spiritual practice though Brother Laurence, Jean-Pierre de Caussade and Therese of Lisieux.
The rest of our quiet days and residentials retreats include creative elements, the scriptures and literature. In addition, we are offering individually guided retreats.
