Retreat Centre Description

Peace Place is a small holding farm, wildflower meadow and campite, dedicated to St. Ninian, one mile from sandy beaches and the ancient St. Peters Chapel, a liminal place of worship on the tip iof Essex. We are guided by our Celtic Christian heritage. Full privacy is an option for reteeatants or conversation with the Christian hosts who offer the opportunity for daily sharedf prayer liturgy of the Eastern Orthodox Church and devotional exercises. There are opportunities for Sunday worship at All Saints Eastern Orthodox Church or a Quaker meeting for worship on site. We are open to the public, with an ethos of simplicity and harmony with nature. We welcome people and their pets.

Accommodation on Offer

We offer accommodation as required. On the field we can provide a spacious canvas tent or a small caravan, ideal for one, or a couple. This has electricity.

There is a compost loo and fresh running water and a hot shower. Self catering, with a fire pit if camping, or one cooked meal a day can be provided, to campers or caravaners.

2026 Events 

January 6th - Fire Festival. Saying farewell to the old year and welcome to the new.

July - Bradwell Pilgrimage to St. Peters Chapel. Peace Plcae is on the pilgrimage route. July is the best month for the wildflowers, butterflies and moths.
