Retreat Centre Description
We offer a place to retreat, rest and find space to simply 'be' with God. There are plenty of varied Christian books to dip into, gardens down to the river Waveney with a summerhouse to sit in and enjoy God's creation. We have twice daily devotionals where we pray, praise and use Lectio 365 to reflect on God's Word. In the garden we have a reflective trail based on Psalm 23, which has been developed by the Bible Society, this is to help you reflect on God's goodness and peace, and to inspire your thoughts. Also, in the grounds we have developed a creative space to give guests the opportunity to express themselves through arts & crafts. In addition to this, we offer a variety of workshops and led retreats which are listed on our website and regularly updated.

God encounter: The importance of hearing from God in writing. How can we hone our listening skills? Listening to what God is saying to us is key to how we then convey our thoughts to others. A meditation on John 1:43-48 as an exercise. An afternoon where they can write their own story, or fiction, or the Lost Son, based on the principles they just discovered. Or thinking through what God may be saying to them in their writing journey from the meditation in the morning. Available for private chats and prayer during this time.
There will be time for questions, prayer and contemplation with award-winning author Sheila Jacobs. Sheila is also an experienced editor working for UK Christian publishers and loves to help new writers hone their potential.
The Hidden Life of trees
with Revd Brigid Main
4pm, Friday 20th – 3pm to Sunday 22nd March 2026
£270.00 full-board or £60.00 as a day guest
Focus: How can the trees help us deepen our prayer life and our own support systems? Researchers see and hear trees communicating, helping and supporting each other via root systems and fungi. Come and spend a weekend in the beauty of Quiet Waters, discovering together how we can experience some of the underlying connectedness of all things in God’s creation and being open to God’s wild hospitality.
"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
