Retreat Centre Description
Whaley Hall is a large retreat house situated at the gateway of the Peak District National Park with large grounds and open countryside on to the Goyt Valley. We have good walking spots close to Castleton, Buxton and the Hope Valley. Access is easy with Whaley Bridge station just 5 mins walk away and the TransPeak bus service from Nottingham to Manchester Airport.
The hall is open for events all year round; we offer retreats for vocational, diocesan, churches, religious, parish support. We welcome church groups such as music, liturgy, bell-ringing, cycling, art and theological groups. We also welcome universities and theological colleges. We invite groups, organisations, churches and dioceses to come and use our facilities, and grounds. We invite working parties to come and help in the grounds, plant bulbs and enjoy the tranquillity and spirituality of the grounds and Abbey church. We invite people to come for the day or to stay.
Accommodation on Offer
10 twin (1 on ground floor), 4 single. 2 large conference rooms, 3 lounges plus a sun lounge. We have a large chapel, with organ and a fine peal of church bells for visiting bell-ringers to run bell-ringing courses. We can accommodate up to 24 residential guests or 50 day visitors.
