Rooms
The three bedroomed retreat house is at the heart of the smallholding. It is a communal space with private bedrooms; two single and one double. The bathroom is shared, as is the dining area with refreshments and the lounge area. The accommodation is fully catered with local, organic and homegrown produce. There is a spacious Quiet Room with stunning views of Ryde and the Solent and a fully stocked Art and Craft room. There is secure parking for two cars and a stairlift.
Notes
The Chicken house offers the opportunity to live at different pace and take time to appretiate the food we eat and the land we inhabit. It is part of an animal based subsistance smallholding where the multigenerational community live simply. As well as offering a quiet space where you can relax and reflect we offer spiritual retreats, learning opportunities and experiences, and these can be found on the website. The ethos of the retreat is rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition and the smallholding draws inspiration from radical agrarian communities of the past. We are abundantly welcome to all faiths and none and have a flexible approach offering stays from a few days to a few weeks and quiet reflection to days of labour in the fields, so please contact us. Unfortunately we cant accomodate dogs but children and young people are very welcome as well as family groups.
