Rooms
Our retreat centre offers nine bedrooms across two peaceful buildings, each well suited to welcoming retreat groups. By prior arrangement, rooms may also be booked for single occupancy.
The Retreat House 5 upstairs rooms accommodating 2 to 4 guests, 1 double room on the ground floor. No en suites (2 bathrooms upstairs, accesible shower/toilet downstairs), sitting room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen for self‑catering with cooker, two ovens, microwave, two fridges, freezer, and dishwasher.
The Cottage single downstairs, triple and quadruple upstairs, sitting room dowsntairs, kitchen downstairs for self-catering with cooker, fridge, and microwave, bathroom upstairs, shower/toilet downstairs.
There is also a Tithe Barn which can be booked by special arrangment as a comfortable meeting room for day groups. (Please Contact Us to discuss what size day group it would be appropriate to book.)
All guests can enjoy our courtyard (with pottery and craft studio) and 2 acres of gardens. There are peaceful corners to be found for quiet and prayer, and a grass path running alongside the stream which makes for a pleasant short walk on our own land.
Notes
Childswickham House is the home of House of the Open Door, a lay ecumenical community and retreat centre. We are in a quiet village location on the edge of the Cotswolds. Our facilities are set around a courtyard going into 2 acres of garden.
The vision for our Retreat Centre is for you to be able to enjoy staying in our beautiful home in the Cotswolds, in relaxation and time with God – whether as individuals, church groups, or as Christian families or friends. Come away and be refreshed!
Our ethos is that we are 'a house of prayer for all nations', and our aim is to provide a place where Christians can be blessed and refreshed in body and soul. We offer self-catering accommodation, taking individual or group bookings. Groups of up to 15 people together in our Retreat House, and up to 9 people in our Cottage. We also ocassionally cater for day groups in our historic Tithe Barn. Contact us for details of our programme or visit the website.
