Notes

Swarthmoor Hall is a Grade 2* listed country house set in beautiful gardens close to the historic market town of Ulverston in Cumbria. It is known as the cradle of Quakerism as it was here in 1652 that Quakerism flourished. The Hall offers a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere and venue for overnight guests in the self-catering accommodation to organise your own retreats; and for day visitors coming to see the Hall, gardens and café. There is also easy access to the coast and fells of the southern Lake District and west Cumbria
