Notes
Launde Abbey is a Christian Retreat House at the heart of the country. The abbey was originally founded in 1119 AD, the medieval part still remains today and is the focal point for much of the worship taking place in the abbey. As well as the beautiful building, Launde offers extensive gardens, and is set within 450 acres of stunning parkland, making it the ideal location to find peace and serenity and to get closer to God. The Launde Community is sustained by a daily rhythm of prayer and worship which is open to all. We pray the Daily Offices and celebrate a daily Eucharist, keeping alive the monastic tradition started here so long ago. This provides a unique atmosphere of prayer valued by our many guests and visitors. Retreatants are welcome to join one of our guided retreat offerings, or alternatively use the Abbey and grounds as a base for their own individual retreat
