Notes
Surrounded by peaceful, open countryside, yet easily accessible (less than 30 minutes from Junction 36 of the M6 and 5 miles from Ulverston), the Snug is part of the former manse of Tottlebank Baptist Church. The house was rebuilt and extended in the 1850s but with part of the building dating back much earlier than this. The church is one of the oldest Baptist churches in the country. Founded in 1669 at the time of the dissenters, the church is a grade 2 listed building. Guests are welcome to make use of the surrounding gardens and woodland area, as well as the church - which is open daily - and grounds for quiet reflection or prayer. There are a number of walks from the door and the Coniston range and the wider Lake District are only a short drive away. There is parking next to the property.
